Our Venue
Our pride and joy. Our little haven. Our venue.
As you may have discovered already, The Greenhouse is the UK’s first zero-waste performance space. The idea behind was really simple — we wanted to show just how easy it can be to live and work in a sustainable way, once we set our minds to it!
The result was an in-the-round venue, made completely from found and recycled materials, with a clear roof, and no floor but the grass beneath your feet. The spaces connects the audience with the natural world around them – shows change with the weather making each performance unique, and deeply dependent on the natural world around it. One journalist was even kind enough to describe the venue as a “wooden cathedral”.
We’ve designed two versions of the venue so far – if you’d like to learn more about the process, you can head to our resources page.
