The Greenhouse will be opening this Summer 2021 in the Canary Wharf Estate, London. This page contains information on what we currently offer for audiences with extra requirements and the necessary steps we will take to meet them.

Our Venue
The Greenhouse is a purpose-built pop-up venue made from recycled and reused materials.
Our entrance, box office and performance space will be signposted. Our venue is built on AstroTurf in Jubilee Park, Canary Wharf on a very gradual incline.
There is step free access from the entrance of the park to our venue and there will be designated pathways for wheelchair users. Our friendly ushers will also be on hand to answer any questions or concerns you may have.
The venue itself is made up of two rooms – a box office and the auditorium space. There is step-free access from the entrance of our venue to our box office and to the performance space. Following completion of our build, there will be a video tour below.
Getting to the Venue
By Bus: Six bus routes pass through Canary Wharf. Each bus stop is a 2-5 minute walk from the venue.
D3 Bethnal Green to Leamouth (alight at ‘Canary Wharf Station’ Stop F or ‘Canada Square North’ Stop H)
D7 Mile End to Poplar/All Saints Church ( alight at ‘Canary Wharf Station’ Stop K, ‘Canada Square South’ Stop J’ or ‘Canary Wharf Station’ Stop G)
D8 Stratford to Isle of Dogs, Asda (‘Canada Square South’ Stop J or ‘Canary Wharf Station’ Stop G)
135 Crossharbour Asda to Moorfields Eye Hospital (‘Canary Wharf Station’ Stop K or ‘Canada Square South’ Stop J)

By Train: The nearest underground stations are Canary Wharf (Jubilee Line and DLR) and Heron Quays (DLR). Both stations are a 2 minute walk from the venue.

Taxis: The nearest taxi drop off points are on ‘Bank Street’ and ‘Upper Bank Street’ . If travelling to the venue, please say that you are travelling to Jubilee Plaza, Canary Wharf. From the taxi points, our venue is a 200 metre step-free walk.
If you require help booking or organising a taxi, please speak to one of our ushers and they would be happy to help.
Pedestrian and Cycle Routes: Canary Wharf is a few minutes’ walk from the Thames Path, a public right of way that runs the length of the River Thames. There are also several cycle routes running through the Canary Wharf Estate. There is also a Santander Cycle docking station in Jubilee Plaza, 50 metres from the venue.
The Box Office
Our box office has a lowered section at the desk. If you feel you might need help getting round, get anxious around large or noisy crowds, or have any questions, our ushers will be on hand to answer any questions or provide assistance. Accessible Toilets
Unfortunately, we are unable to provide toilets in our venue, however, there are public accessible toilets available in the Jubilee Place Shopping Mall on Level -1.
Entrance to the Jubilee Place Mall is a 50 metre walk away. From the venue, audience members must turn left to use the Jubilee Place Mall entrance opposite the park entrance. These toilets can then be reached by an elevator and are clearly signposted.
Accessible toilets with hoist facilities can be found in Canada Place, Mall Level -1 and Churchill Place, Mall Level -1.
Personal Assistant Ticketing Scheme
We understand that people with accessibility requirements may not be able to attend shows on their own. As such, The Greenhouse provides a no-questions asked ‘Personal Assistant Ticketing Scheme’. This scheme provides one complimentary personal assistance ticket for customers who would otherwise be unable to attend the venue. No proof of need is required. These tickets can be acquired by emailing boxoffice@thegreenhousetheatre.com.
Wheelchair Spaces
The Greenhouse has a permanent wheelchair-friendly viewing areas in our performance space. This viewing area is by the entrance to the auditorium, on the right-hand side of the door. It is on the front row of the seating and has step free access. We encourage you to get in contact before the show, so we can best accommodate your needs. The viewing platform currently not bookable, however, if you would like us to reserve a space for you, please do not hesitate to get in touch!
Covid-19
The Greenhouse Theatre has implemented policies to minimise the risk of transmission of Covid-19 as much as possible. A full list and explanation of the measures we are taking can be found here.
Audience members are advised that our front of house team cannot provide physical assistance to patrons with additional needs. If assistance is necessary, we will provide a complimentary ticket for a member of your household to help you.
All of our front of house staff will be provided with a visor, so that if you need to lip-read, you can still do so as safely as possible.
If you have access requirements, feel anxious, or are uncomfortable in crowds, please let us know and we can help you find your sit before the general admission to the auditorium.
Audience Members with Medical Requirements
The Greenhouse welcome audience members who need to bring medical equipment, medicines, food or drink to manage their medical condition. If you have any concerns or questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at boxoffice@thegreenhousetheatre.com. Our ushers will also be on hand to answer any questions or concerns you may have on the day of the performance.
Assistance Dogs
Assistance dogs are welcomed at The Greenhouse and water bowls can be provided! Please do let us know in advance of the performance if there will be an assistance dog is attending, and we will reserve an appropriate seat for you.
Strobe Lighting and Lighting in the Venue
The Greenhouse does not have any electricity in the venue. The auditorium and box office are lit with natural light. Sound for shows is created through singing and acoustic musical instruments or played from Bluetooth speakers.
The Greenhouse also implements a strobe-free policy.
